Bella Grace Vineyards and Sutter Creek Wineries on Historic Main Street

When visitors explore Sutter Creek wineries, most start on Main Street. That is where you will find Bella Grace Vineyards at number 73 – a beautifully restored 1860s Victorian cottage with a shaded garden patio, estate wines poured by people who genuinely love what they do, and olive oil tastings that catch almost everyone off guard in the best possible way.
Bella Grace is one of the most distinctive Sutter Creek wineries on Main Street. We are part of the Wine on 49 collective, named by Visit California as a standout tasting room, and we are open every day of the week. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Wine Tasting at Our Sutter Creek Tasting Room
Our Sutter Creek tasting room is in a 1860s Victorian cottage that has been carefully restored to preserve the warmth and character of historic Gold Country. Walk through the front door and you are immediately in one of the most inviting spaces among Sutter Creek wineries — original architecture, vintage details, and a garden patio out back where you can sit with a glass and let the afternoon slow down.
We pour our full lineup of estate wines — Zinfandel, Barbera, Syrah, Viognier, Grenache, and sparkling wine — all grown on our own land at our Plymouth estate in the Shenandoah Valley. Every wine in your glass came from a vine Charlie Havill farmed with his own hands. You will also taste our artisan olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and Tuscan salt at no extra charge. Most guests are surprised by how much they enjoy the olive oil tasting.
Hours and location
Open daily, 11am to 5pm. Last tasting at 4:30pm. Walk-ins always welcome — reservations appreciated on busy weekends. We are at 73 Main Street in the heart of historic Sutter Creek, right in the middle of the Wine on 49 walkable tasting room district.
Sutter Creek Wineries and why
Main Street is so Special
Sutter Creek is one of Gold Country’s most celebrated small towns, and its Main Street tasting room scene is the heart of why people come. The Wine on 49 collective brings together eight boutique Sutter Creek wineries, all within easy walking distance of each other — no driving between tasting rooms, no designated driver logistics. You park once and walk the whole afternoon.
Bella Grace is right in the middle of all of it. Alongside us on Main Street, you will find Scott Harvey Wines with nearly 40 years of Amador County winemaking history, Baiocchi Wines at 82 Main Street with exceptional small-lot Sierra Foothills fruit, and Yorba Wines just off Main on Hanford Street, known for Rhone-style varietals. The Wine on 49 collective also runs passport-style tastings, an Art and Wine Stroll in October, and seasonal events throughout the year.
If you want to go deeper into Amador County wine country, the Shenandoah Valley is ten miles north with dozens more wineries including our own Plymouth estate and wine cave.
Why Visitors Choose Bella Grace Among Sutter Creek Wineries
There are several Sutter Creek wineries to choose from. Here is what makes Bella Grace worth making your first stop — or your last one, because people tend to linger.
The wines are estate grown. Everything we pour came from our own vineyard in Plymouth. We grow the grapes, make the wine, age it in our own barrel room, and bottle it ourselves. That is not how every winery on Main Street works and you can taste the difference.
The olive oil tasting is genuinely exceptional. Over 20 different extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars including our signature Tuscan salt. Free with your wine tasting. Most guests end up buying something they did not plan on.
The setting is one of the best on Main Street. A restored 1860s Victorian with a garden patio shaded by mature trees. On a warm Gold Country afternoon it is hard to leave.
The staff actually knows the wines. We are a small family winery. The people pouring your tasting know Charlie Havill and can tell you exactly what block of the vineyard your Zinfandel came from.
Walk-ins are always welcome. No tasting fee. Open every single day. We want you to come in.
Planning Your Visit to Sutter Creek Wineries
If you are making a day of the Sutter Creek wineries on Main Street, start at Bella Grace. We will pour you in, tell you what else is worth visiting while you are here, and send you off with a good sense of the town. Come back at the end of the day if you want to pick up a bottle to take to dinner.
Sutter Creek is 15 minutes from our Plymouth estate vineyard and wine cave if you want to make a full Amador County wine country day. Many guests do both — the Plymouth estate in the morning for the vineyard and cave experience, Sutter Creek in the afternoon for the walkable Main Street scene.
