Charlie & Michael Havill, Owners, Winegrowers, Winemaker

What do engineered products, life insurance, and winemaking have in common? The answer is, more than you may think! For Bella Grace Vineyards’ proprietors, husband and wife team Charlie and Michael Havill, the three industries share two people who have discovered a single passion – winemaking!

Charlie now runs the day to day operations of the vineyard from running the tractors to bottling olive oil!

Michael is our head winemaker, leading all taste and winemaking decisions.

Jess Havill, General Manager of Operations

Jess joined his parents, Charlie and Michael, at Bella Grace Vineyards in the year 2011 as the wholesale manager. Jess is now our General Manager of Operations overseeing our winemaking, online presence, and our wholesale markets.

You will find Jess out in the market pouring, or at one of our locations with his dog – Jack.

Steve Havill, Sales & Product Manager

Steve started his wine career in 2006 at Vino Noceto as a “case goods packer” and cashier. He later joined his family at Bella Grace Vineyards at the end of 2014 as the wine club manager. Steve now does outside sales while helping manage our products & marketing.

Steve’s family lives in Amador County, his wife Cassie (pictured), is a horse trainer in Ione, CA and his 6-year-old daughter – Peyton goes to school locally. You will also see Peyton hanging with Charlie & Michael at the vineyard throughout the week!

Robert Havill, Cellar & Chef

Robert joined the family winery in 2018 as a Cellar Rat, and is now our in-house Chef. Robert owns his own company – Handsome Eats – that caters to pop-up lunches and other events for Bella Grace. You’ll find him on most Fridays making a delicious lunch like Steak & Grilled Peach salad in front of our wine cave.

Robert also heads up our food & wine pairings for our private club events in the cave.
