Black & Blue Salad with Ginger Balsamic Caramelized Onions
- 1 lb of your favorite cut of steak
- 8 cups spring mix
- 1 lb mixed heirloom cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup bleu cheese
- 2 medium onions
- 2 tbsps Bella Grace Ginger Balsamic Vinegar
- 2 tbsps Bella Grace Garlic Olive Oil
Season the steak simply with salt and pepper or your favorite rub and then cook according to your personal preference. After cooking, allow steak to set for 10-20 minutes. While the steak is setting, prepare the carmelized onions by first peeling the onions and then cutting into thin strips.
In a skillet, combine Bella Grace Garlic Olive Oil and yellow onion strips. Use a spatula to coat all onion slices in olive oil. Place a lid on the skillet and cook on a medium heat for about 15 minutes or until onions become translucent. Stir the onions at 5 minutes and then at 10 minutes before removing the lid and stirring consistently for the remaining five minutes. Add Bella Grace Ginger Balsamic Vinegar and stir again to coat all onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until liquid has evaporated and then remove onions from the skillet.
Assemble the salad. Add 1-2 cups of spring mix to a plate. Add tomatoes, cheese, steak, and onions. Serve with your favorite salad dressing.
