2018 Estate Vermentino
This wine is so pale and clean it practically disappears in the glass. The nose is bright with tropical fruit, mango, and pineapple. Super crisp and juicy, the flavors explode across the palate. The finish just keeps going and going and going... This may be the most outstanding vintage Bella Grace has produced.
Vineyard & Vintage Notes
The 2018 harvest was a one of kind for our estate Vermentino fruit. While many varietals took an extended stay on the vine to ripe, the Vermentino ripening was textbook. The now well-known bountiful harvest of 2018 resulted in roughly 30% increase in yields, with no impact on final balance and acidity that reigns true to our Vermentino.
Bella Grace Vineyards are in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County containing 19.6 acres of Italian and Rhone varietals. Sustainable vineyard practices are employed always, respectful of the environment. The Vermentino grows on 23-year-old fortified root stock. There are less than 65 acres of Vermentino in California and our estate maintains just under 2 acres.
