What's the hottest sounds of Summer? FunkspelJazz&B!
Glen Miller, Paul Whiteman, Benny Goodman. All lent their names to fantastic ensembles that created memorable music that has lasted the ages. We think one more band leader needs to be added to the list - Aaron Gayden. Bella Grace is thrilled to welcome the Aaron Gayden Band back to their Sutter Creek Tasting Room Friday, June 30th as part of their Summer Concert Series.
A perennial favorite based in Auburn, California, Gayden has been teaching music, songwriting, and performing for over a quarter century. We know him best here in the foothills though as the leader of the Aaron Gayden Band.
The Aaron Gayden Band is comprised of Gayden and up to seven rotating musicians. While each member also maintains a varied musical schedule of their own, Gayden describes his band as “a place where each player and singer is allowed to shine and stretch, bringing maximum enjoyment to you the listener.”
With a self-described sound of "funkspelJazz&B, with a touch of Latin and rock," Gayden lists his musical influences as everyone from Miles Davis to Musiq Soulchild and John Coltrane. “It [modern jazz] is a wide open canvas. Miles opened the dialogue of what jazz is. It's both forward looking and deeply rooted in tradition. It is BALANCE. At least that's how I perceive it.”
If you can’t catch Gayden Friday, June 30th at the Sutter Creek Tasting Room, The Aaron Gayden Band will also take the vineyard stage Saturday, July 15th for Bella Grace’s “Sounds in the Vineyard” music festival.
